I shudder to think

I shudder to think of what the future holds for us. First, people start losing physical contact because of the advent of this internet thing. Don’t get me wrong, it is a good thing in a lot of ways, but it really alienates people from one another. then there is this online dating thing, where people search for love online. is this right? Tell me please somebody. What next? We see homes being connected with consoles in the kitchen, what next? I fear that people will forego leaving their homes since everything will be available online real soon. I fear for our children. Will they not be able to experience socailizing in the playground every afternoon? Will they live their lives inside the house, growing up indoors? Never seeing the sun? Well, with the rate out pollution is going, the sun may be the most dangerous thing to experience in the future.

I saw a special..

I saw a special on the national geographic channel the other day, it was about pro gamers in Korea. Man, do they have it made, some earn as much as $200,000 a year! And all they do is play. They are also funded by corporate sponsors, and this includes their living quarters, which is a mansion where the gamer lives with his teammates and coach, food, allowance and their own training computers. Their salary is left untouched. Not only that, they are regarded as something like rockstars! Women scream and shout wherever they go! Again, I remind you, that all they do is play videogames! The only downside to this is that their retirement age is 24 years old so their shelf life isn’t that long. You see, every micro second is crucial, and at that age, their reflexes are slow compared to the 16 year olds.

I am suffering..

I am suffering from a moderate case of insomnia. Moderate because I get to sleep just before daybreak. But the insomnia I have is something unique. Unique because my insomnia isn’t about not being able to sleep when I want to, but because even when I am tired, I refuse to go to sleep because there are a lot of things to do before retiring for the night. IN my opinion, staying up late is better than waking up early in the morning. Though a lot of medical evidence suggests the other way around. For me, it is better. I can surf the web, work, read, watch tv or movies on my dvd player, etc. In the morning, I can’t do these things. Mind you, I work at home so staying up late is much more productive for me too. The mornings, I just sleep it off.

When considering a house

When considering a house, take into account not just the price, but the cost of maintenance, the land tax, the monthly dues, the proximity to important establishments and services, safety and a lot more. I know a guy who bought a house and just considered its sale price. After three months he was selling it at a steal, more than 50% off what he originally paid! This is because he didn’t do his research and was soon bogged down by rising debts because of maintenance, monthly dues and since its proximity to his workplace was quite a distance, his gas consumption too rised to a point that he was the one paying to work rather than get paid. So if you are on the market for a house, know everything. And I mean everything. Is something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Know what you are getting into first before diving in.

How do we go about

How do we go about our lives without thinking about others? But that is what is being taught by the world today, you can survive on your own, without needing others. The only thing you need is money. And we all know what money is the root of right? The world is run by money. The acquisition of it, the hoarding of it, the spending of it. Without money, countries go to war for it. WIth money, countries still go to war to show the world they have the money to do so. Money is power, which is what politicos are after when they run for office. Money. Power is money too. Everything revolves around money. Even love depends on money. The rich marry the rich, the poor with the poor. Even if some say love conquers all, in time, money will still control them.

What is national pride?

What is national pride? A lot of people say they have it. Claim is the best word. When asked if they possessed national pride, almost all say yes. The others? Well, let’s just say they would rather live in a nother country. To those who would want to live in another country, I say go. Go and live wherever you want. We don’t need any citizens who are embarrassed as to who they are. BUt to those who claim to have national pride, prove it. Prove it by helping your country rise up from its problems. From poverty to the national debt, make a difference and help quell the rising problems. Not just quell, but eradicate it totally. Proud citizens should act like one, not just through words. Words inspire, but never made anything happen. Action is the key. Let’s see some action then eh?

Tips

I just talked to another entertainment center owner, and he gave me very useful tips on how to salvage our floundering family business!Actually, most of the tips he gave were the more obvious ones, but though obvious, he stressed that they should all be concentrated on. Any lapse in focus regarding those, can result in disastrous results. He told me to always refresh the games available. When a new one comes along, grab it, no matter how expensive. If I become the first to have it in my area, people will flock to me. Even if others subsequently get ahold of their own new machines, the customers will stick with me because of their familiarity with the surroundings. And never overcharge customers. Give them a fair price and every month, introduce a promo that people will appreciate. Though it may seem risky, especially now with my position, I should do it all and in time, profits will be raking in.

Its a good thing he owns a chain of amusement centers in another part of the city otherwise, I am sure he won’t be giving me these tips!

Looking Good

Well, things are going well so far. Our plans are being laid out one by one. Of course, the effects of those plans can’t be felt yet, but they will hopefully be seen in the next months to come. Can’t tell much now of course. We can’t expect things to turn around that quick overnight right? Anyway, I hope nothing goes wrong. These things, just one little mistake, and everything can go tumbling down.

In the meantime, I am still continuing my rounds of the various branches we have and am still doing ocular inspections of operations. Things I must say are great. And it seems that with the recent addition of new arcade machines, waves of new customers are pouring in. I hope this keeps up. I have to inspect all branches and see to it that every machine is in rder, and replace old titles with new ones to keep things fresh.

Into Action

Well, the work has begun and we are now in the process of putting our well laid plans into action. I hope things go smoothly. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do. Here’s crossing my fingers! My classmate’s friend and my brother are planning and executing what needs to be done, while I am doing what I can during site inspections.

People ask me sometimes, how our business is doing, I can’t lie but I can’t tell the truth either so I just tell them that it is doing good. Well it is really, though we are in the red, we still manage to stay afloat and that is good right? I hope we do from good to well to really well really soon!
